Love from 140 JFJ

March 23, 2017

Howdy everybody.   Hope this message finds you well and happy.

Over the past 8 years, there have been many posts about Melanie Williams' great nephew, Jonah Williams.  He was born in Feb. 2009 with a rare skin disease (EB).  Saturday, April 1, the 6th annual Jogging for Jonah event will take place.  Jonah's great aunt, Melanie Williams, has posted the below message on her Facebook page. I'm taking the liberty of sharing this via the messaging center on our alumni site - coz I know there are dozens of you on the site who aren't Facebookers.

Here's Melanie's message:

Most of you know that my great nephew, Jonah, was born with an incurable skin disease, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). Each year we have an event called Jogging for Jonah to raise funds for research to find a cure. This year's event will be in a week, on Saturday, April 1 at Pinedale Christian Church in Winston-Salem. Hopefully some of you will be able to join us. If you can't there are other ways you can help.

I am setting up my Team First Responders page in honor of Jonah and all the military, police, firefighters and EMS who serve us so bravely every day.One of the ways you can participate is to donate. Your contributions will go toward research for a cure for Jonah and all the other EB sweeties. I have formed Team First Responders, not only to honor Jonah, but those brave individuals who serve us on the front lines. You can donate OR you can join the team and start your own fundraising challenge! It is fun and goes to such a worthy cause. Let's challenge these other teams and watch our progress. Time is getting short, so don't wait!!!

Here is the link that will take you to my team's page, plus there are other tabs that will give you more info on the event:

Every little bit helps us get closer to a cure for "The Worst Disease You've Never Heard Of". Because the cost of doing nothing is too great!

Team Jonah and Team First Responders....FOR THE WIN!!
