EFIRD WINSTON-SALEM Vernon Tola Efird II Sept. 17, 1956-Nov. 30, 2014 Vernon Tola Efird II, 58, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Efird was born on September 17, 1956 in Wilkesboro, NC to Vernon Tola Efird I and Juanita Regan Efird. Vernon was a graduate of East Forsyth High School in the class of 1974. By trade he was a machinist, painter and avid landscaper. Vernon was a very affable man who loved his family and friends dearly. He enjoyed long talks with his son and others and in the last years, reaching out to many, many people on Facebook. In addition to his parents, Vernon is preceded death by his beloved sister Becky Efird. Vernon is survived by his beloved life partner Allen Hull of Winston-Salem, a son, James Allen Efird of New Mexico, his sister Ellen Southards; and many nieces and nephews Rebecca Ann Southards, Joanna, Joy, Brandy and the rest of his family and friends whom he cared deeply about. A memorial service will be held at his home, 3898 Stafford Mill Rd, Germanton, NC 27019, on Sunday, December 7, 2014, at 2:00p.m. officiated by Rev. Aaron Long.
