June 4 comment: Parking comments have been edited. Please re-read. We have more parking options from what was posted earlier this week.
WEATHER: Not as favorable as what the forecast has previously been - but by golly - we're gonna meet @ the lake regardless (forfeiting the backup plan at The Jefferson House). There will be several tents for us to stay dry. We'll figure out how to manage.
Oh the places we've been - and places we'll go! We're all blessed to see our 60th birthday! (By the way - excuse the '2' registrations---not sure how that occurred -- completing 1 of the 2 is sufficient)
60th birthday bash Saturday, June 6 @ Pierce Belews Lake House . 8778 Vanhoy Rd., Kville (Rick Pierce said you might need to put the address in your GPS using a hypen in Vanhoy, ie Van-hoy) (if you're coming from K'ville and travelling Piney Grove Rd ---follow Piney Grove -->Right on Benefit Church Rd--->(about a mile or so) then left on Vanhoy
PARKING information
Once you turn onto Vanhoy: A short distance --you'll see a vehicle directing you to hang a right to go towards the Pierce lakehouse. (staying 'straight' is Fagg Farm Rd)

If you text---please be sure to say who you are - coz your number isn't likely to be in our contacts. It'll be good for us to know who we're chatting with Dusty will be fetching you in a jeep; BJ will be in a Yukon.

Dusty Hopkins: 336 215 8802
Trish da Dish: 336 971 2043

BJ Fagg lives on Fagg Farm Rd ---he is more than happy for folks to park at his place---and he'll transport you to the Pierce property in his Yukon . If you wind up doing this---give him a call so he can fetch you. You're welcome to call in advance of your arrival - and he can plan to meet you. Remember - when you turn onto Vanhoy and see the car with a sign pointing you towards the right for 'field parking'..............if you stay straight--that is Fagg Farm Rd. BJ's house is about 1/4 mile .
If you hang a right towards the Pierce house--- almost immediately you'll see a blue dumpster to the left. There's room for a couple/few cars there. If you are early enough and park there---call 1 of the 4 of us once you've parked (or take a leisurely stroll till you reach the party)
Just past the blue dumpster -- there is parking for approx 5 cars beside a barn. After parking -- call or walk.
Past the dumpter and barn----there is a field on the right which will hold approx 35 to 40 cars. You can't miss the field-----there's a yellow fire truck in back. From 4 to 5(ish) - a traffic cop should be at the field to maximize parking.
. ***(IF you reach the 'fire truck' field -- and realize the parking at the dumpster/bar and field are all full -- call 1 of the 4 of us. We'll come rescue you - probably leaving your car closer to BJ's house - and then driving you to the party. BJ's family owns a lot of the land ----we will find a parking spot for everyone
Anyone who has any special needs that would be more comfortable with parking closer to the party spot-------we have a few spots. Call in advance, or upon arrival.
Something to consider: Carpool -- riding together from home, or perhaps meeting some folks at Goodwill Baptist Church (located on Piney Grove) Benefit Church Rd is about a 1/4 mile past the church.
We'll get started about 4pm, and party til the cows go home. EF '72 Chris Ferguson will take you back in time with lots of '70s music; EF '72 Mike Chambers*** will be on hand to feed us --- via his Munchie Wagon Food Truck. Bring cash for your food purchases. We'll enjoy cornhole,, 2 special 'entertainment' segments, kayaking and boating (thanks to Lindsay aka Dusty Hopkins and BJ Fagg - who both live within walking distance of the Pierce lake property) , and most importantly, fellowship.
