IN LOVING MEMORY

Steve Pinkston ((teacher))

Mr. Steve Pinkston, 61, of Winston-Salem died Saturday morning at his home surrounded by family who loved him dearly. Steve was a graduate of Pfeiffer College and was inducted into the Pfeiffer College Hall of Fame as a member of the 1968 baseball team ranked #2 in the nation. He was born on June 1, 1947 in Rowan County. Steve was an avid amateur golfer, outdoorsman, and enjoyed reading and playing his guitar. If there is something that Steve could say to you that would be encouraging this is what he would say: "Your life should not be measured by how many breaths you take, but by how many times your breath has been taken away." Surviving are his wife: Susannah Pinkston of their home in Winston-Salem; daughters: Kathleen Capshaw and husband Leigh of Crozet, VA and Meredith Pinkston of Winston-Salem; two brothers: Doug Pinkston and wife Claudia of Columbia, SC and Tim Pinkston and wife Lynette of Albemarle; and two grandchildren: Matthew Capshaw and Sarah Capshaw. A memorial service will be held at Home Moravian Church in Old Salem on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 2:00pm with the Rev. Scott Venable officiating. Interment will follow in God's Acre.
